Protect Yourself from Respiratory Viruses

October 16, 2025

  • For information on COVID-19, influenza (flu) and RSV vaccines, please review the ACPHD vaccination page or the California Department of Public Health’s Vaccines for All webpage: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/publichealth4all/vaccines.aspx
  • For information on other strategies to prevent respiratory illness, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/respiratory-viruses/prevention/index.html
  • Alameda County continues to align with state masking guidance for the general public. Staff and visitor masking is strongly recommended in patient care areas of licensed general acute care hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, dialysis centers, and infusion centers during winter respiratory virus season (November 1 – March 31) and other periods of increased respiratory virus activity.
  • If you have insurance, including Medi-Cal, please contact your healthcare provider or pharmacy about vaccinations. ACPHD is offering free COVID-19 and flu vaccines to community members struggling to access these vaccines, regardless of their insurance coverage. Visit the vaccine page to find a location near you.
