Hospitalizations

These dashboards rely on multiple data systems at the state and local levels, and experience occasional fluctuations as those systems coordinate and update data. For instance, death data may be corrected from time to time as information about the cause of death or the county of residence of the deceased person are finalized. Weekly routine maintenance of CalREDIE by CDPH may impact local COVID case counts. On the cases & deaths dashboard, the reported number of cases for the last seven days is the most likely to be incomplete and is highlighted in black. As of November 28, 2022, Alameda County’s booster percentages reflect any additional vaccine doses received after a person completes the primary vaccination series.

VACCINATION DATA

By Gender, Age Group, Race/Ethnicity, Place, and Over Time   Mobile version

CONFIRMED CASES & DEATHS

Confirmed cases include cases with a reported positive molecular test (e.g., PCR). Confirmed deaths include deaths among confirmed cases where cause of death either includes COVID-19 or is not yet known. The categorization of confirmed is based solely on the known testing history and is independent of cause of death.

PROBABLE CASES & DEATHS

Probable cases include cases without a reported positive molecular test but with a reported positive proctored antigen test and/or the cause of death includes COVID-19. Probable deaths include any deaths among probable cases where the cause of death either includes COVID-19 or is not yet known.

Notes and disclaimers: We have masked the UC Berkeley tract (06001422600) and zip (94720) and several nearby tracts and zips for vaccination. Any tract or zip where college and graduate students make up more than 40% of the population according to the American Community Survey 2015-2019 has been masked, including the Mills College zip (94613). The vaccination data from the state shows relatively low vaccination rates in these areas due to (1) a lack of documentation of students in the CAIR system; or (2) inconsistent population estimates for these areas because many students are not living in Berkeley or at Mills College this year; or (3) students providing a different (permanent) address when receiving their vaccine. More information on vaccination rates of UC Berkeley students and staff can be found at https://coronavirus.berkeley.edu/dashboard/immunization/.
