The COVID-19 data that are collected and reported have changed since the end of the Public Health Emergency on May 11, 2023. The Alameda County dashboards have been updated to reflect these changes. The dashboards rely on multiple sources of data at the state and local levels, and may be corrected from time to time as additional data are received.
Case counts do not include the results of home antigen testing. This means that cases no longer show how much COVID-19 is circulating in a community. Numbers of tests and test positivity also do not reflect home antigen testing. Therefore, Alameda County will no longer share updated case and testing data on this dashboard. However, data through August 2023 will be archived and can be viewed on this page.
The CDC COVID-19 data tracker can be found here: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#maps.

HOSPITALIZATIONS
Starting on May 1, 2024 the federal government no longer requires hospitals to report COVID-19 hospitalization data. Therefore, both CDPH and ACPHD are removing these data from their websites.DEATHS
As of January 1, 2023 COVID-19 deaths are now defined nationally as persons who had COVID-19 listed on their death certificates. For deaths that occurred on or after January 1, 2023, Alameda County Public Health Department is now using the new definition, in alignment with the California Department of Public Health. The deaths dashboard will be updated weekly.Due to the change in definition for COVID-19 deaths effective January 1, 2023, the reported COVID-19 deaths may be slightly different than the ones shown on the previous dashboard.

Please keep in mind that the accuracy of projections and estimates depends on the accuracy of assumptions and limited knowledge, which change as experts learn more about SARS-CoV-2.
- Nowcasts: Estimates of how fast COVID-19 is spreading in California and select counties.
- Forecasts: Projections of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths in the next 2-4 weeks.
- Scenarios: Long-term estimates of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths under different hypothetical scenarios, for example, fast-paced re-opening or slow-paced re-opening.
